Oklahoma State Cowboys Replace Football Field with Latest FieldTurf Technology

FieldTurf & Mammoth Sports Construction Partner to Install New Vertex CORE System & FieldTurf Genius at Boone Pickens Stadium.

Victors of the 2022 PlayStation Fiesta Bowl, Oklahoma State University, will kick off its 2022 season on a new FieldTurf surface at Boone Pickens Stadium. Ranked 12th on ESPN’s College Football Associated Press Poll Preseason Rankings the Cowboys are poised for another successful campaign this coming season.

The new synthetic turf field at Boone Pickens Stadium will feature FieldTurf’s leading Vertex CORE system. The product was designed to deliver the perfect combination of performance and beauty. Equipped with two legendary FieldTurf fibers, the Classic HD slit-film fiber and the CORE monofilament super fiber, the system delivers leading agility, durability, and aesthetics. Vertex CORE demonstrates FieldTurf’s unwavering dedication to quality and strive to Change The Game.

FieldTurf Genius, the world’s first and only smart field technology, will also be installed at Boone Pickens Stadium and the Cowboys’ practice field. FieldTurf Genius uses computer vision, deep learning algorithms, and sensor fusion to monitor the field, record activity, and deliver advanced analytics back to the program. FieldTurf Genius is designed to help maximize the longevity, playability, and safety of the sports field.

PROVEN SAFETY
Vertex CORE is designed using FieldTurf’s heavyweight 3-layer infill technology, which has showcased a significantly lower incidence of injuries per research by Michael C. Meyers, a Professor in the Department of Sport Science and Physical Education at Idaho State University.

The project was completed with Mammoth Sports Construction, an official FieldTurf partner. The new surface will take center stage when the Cowboys host Central Michigan University on September 1st.
