Nashville SC Academy Will Feature FieldTurf’s Revolution 360

Nashville SC, among the newest Major League Soccer franchises, has launched an elite fully-funded youth soccer program that will serve the entire state of Tennessee and feature one of FieldTurf’s most popular artificial turf systems.

Located at Currey Ingram Academy — a K-12 day and boarding school in the Nashville suburb of Brentwood for students with learning differences — the Nashville SC Academy will boast a state-of-the-art facility with FieldTurf’s Revolution 360 surface. The system, named after the concept of completeness, features optimal durability, resilience and feel.

“We are the first professional soccer club with a truly elite soccer academy in the state,” Nashville SC CEO Ian Ayre said when announcing the Academy’s launch. “Our goal is to inspire young athletes to want to play for our first team and create a pathway for them to do so at no cost. Our Academy will provide players with a unique experience and a learning environment that will be unmatched in the United States.”

The Nashville SC Academy is designed to complement existing programs in the state, according to the team – creating a defined pathway from youth soccer to the professional MLS ranks. It will provide elite players with opportunities to participate in MLS events and international experiences while being on the path to a potential Nashville SC roster spot.

Academy teams will compete against other MLS clubs at the highest level of youth soccer in the United States. On Nov. 29, 2019, the Nashville SC Academy U12 Boys team took the pitch for the first time at the U12 Generation adidas Cup, an elite tournament in Atlanta involving other MLS-affiliated U12 academy teams.

The Nashville SC Academy plans to introduce U13, U14 and U15 teams during the 2020-21 season.

Meanwhile, Nashville SC will play its inaugural regular-season MLS game Feb. 29, 2020, against Atlanta United FC at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

FieldTurf is a select member of the FIFA Preferred Producer Program, having met the high quality standards required to deliver elite-level pitches worldwide.

Along with Currey Ingram, FieldTurf is the home surface of Atlanta United, New England Revolution, Seattle Sounders, Portland Timbers and hundreds of elite soccer programs globally.
