FieldTurf was once again a dominant presence throughout the New Jersey high school football season. Week after week, schools that trust FieldTurf artificial turf sat atop the state rankings, right up until the end of the regular season, and now into the NJSIAA playoffs.

That consistency was highlighted in NJ Athletics' final top 20 rankings, shown below. With 18 schools, FieldTurf was the only artificial turf provider represented on the list, as the other two use natural grass. Heading into this weekend’s public sectional finals and non-public state quarterfinals, all 18 of those teams are still in championship contention.

The teams are spread out across six NJSIAA brackets, with six in the Non-Public A bracket, including four top-ranked schools (Don Bosco Prep, St. Joseph Regional, Bergen Catholic, and St. Peter’s Prep). This year, those four teams have combined for 30 wins and just six losses, with Don Bosco Prep going a perfect 9-0. Delbarton and St. Joseph (MET) round out FieldTurf’s representation in the bracket.

The Non-Public B bracket features three Top 20 FieldTurf teams (DePaul Catholic, Paramus Catholic, and Red Bank Catholic), as do Group 4 (Ramapo, Northern Highlands, and Phillipsburg), and Group 5 (Washington TWP, West Orange, and Kingsway). The remaining are competing in Group 1 (Glassboro) and Group 3 (Old Tappan and West Morris).

This weekend, we will see the crowning of 20 sectional champions and find out who will square off in next week’s state semi-final games before the state championships on November 28th.
