Converting from Grass to FieldTurf Solves Kankakee High School’s Issues with Policing Field Usage

It's official, Kankakee High School is converting their stadium field from natural grass to artificial turf. School officials announced that a new FieldTurf Revolution 360 system was to be installed at the facility with completion slated for August 1st, just in time for the start of football.

After putting together one of their best seasons in history, with a first state playoff appearance since 2010, the Kays now look forward to kick-start their upcoming season on a brand new state of the art synthetic turf field.

Durability and a desire for increased usage were deciding factors that drove the Kankakee school district to upgrade the facility’s surface. In speaking about the project, Kankakee Superintendent Genevra Walters said, "This is a benefit for the community. We've had some community teams that have wanted to use our facilities. But we've had to be careful because you can't have too many activities on a grass field. This will solve that problem and it opens up the opportunity of more activities for our students and our community."
