Yager Stadium at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, will kick off the 2022 football season with a new FieldTurf surface and upgraded audio and video systems. The installation of a new FieldTurf CORE field with CoolPlay was completed during the summer.
“To be trusted by my alma mater is a real privilege,” Said Marty Olinger, Senior Vice-President of Sales, FieldTurf - Alumnus of Miami University, Class of 1983. “The RedHawks’ athletics program exemplifies excellence, and to be trusted as their home surface for nearly 20 years, speaks loudly to our team’s commitment to delivering leading value for the university.”
CORE: The Super Fiber, built from FieldTurf’s 20+ years of industry-leading innovation and unmatched expertise, CORE, the first multi-layer dual-polymer fiber ever, rewrites the playbook for sports turf, reinvents the playing field, and redefines the player experience. Engineered for elite-level facilities, CORE is designed to deliver a more realistic, textured, grass-like shape with optimal durability and resiliency.
CoolPlay is a FieldTurf exclusive and is an industry leader in cooling technology. The extruded composite top dressing is designed to reduce surface temperature without compromising performance or adding additional maintenance.
“Our previous game field and current indoor practice field are FieldTurf, and we have had a good relationship with the company maintaining the fields over the years,” one athletic department official said. The university has relied on FieldTurf surfaces since 2003.
The new turf at Yager Stadium is generating a buzz. It features Miami’s bold black and red team colors in the end zones and at midfield and custom yard line numbers outlined in black to match the Red Hawks’ jersey numbers. Alternating green shading every five yards gives the field added distinction.
In the NCAA, over 1500 programs trust FieldTurf, including powerhouse football programs Notre Dame, Michigan, Oklahoma State, Utah, Houston, and Oregon, to name a few.
In the NFL, FieldTurf is the trusted choice of 11 teams. The Falcons, Giants, Jets, Lions, Panthers, Patriots, and Seahawks play and practice on FieldTurf while the Buccaneers, Eagles, Packers, and Steelers practice on FieldTurf.
