Why the Nation's Top Collegiate Programs Continue to Call FieldTurf

Over the summer, from coast to coast, FieldTurf completed installations at storied college campuses

FieldTurf continues to be the leading choice for NCAA Division I athletic programs, across every sport. The summer of 2026 was an exciting one for our team, which completed new installations and replacements for some of the most celebrated collegiate programs in the country.

Our industry-leading system design and the trust we've built with over 1,500 collegiate programs are reflected in the scope of work our team completed over the past few months. We've always prided ourselves on the fact that our "proof is in the ground," and that our fields speak for themselves. The continued trust of the nation's top athletic programs only reinforces that not all turf is created equal.

This summer, FieldTurf mobilized to over 15 campuses, spanning 10 Division I conferences, across 15 states:

  • Big Ten: Maryland, Michigan, Northwestern, Oregon, USC
  • SEC: Ole Miss, Texas
  • ACC: North Carolina State, Wake Forest
  • Pac-12: Boise State, Colorado State, Oregon State
  • Big East: Connecticut
  • Ivy League: Cornell
  • Patriot League: Colgate, Richmond
  • Missouri Valley Football Conference: Murray State
  • America East Conference: Binghamton
  • Big Sky Conference: Montana

FieldTurf will complete over 1000 installations this year, from professional stadiums to your local community park.

With many schools accounting for multiple installations (e.g., stadiums, practice fields, and indoor facilities), this summer was a showcase of FieldTurf's full range of surfacing systems and sport-specific solutions.

Why the Nation's Top Athletic Programs Continue to Call FieldTurf

  • High-Performance Grass-Like Results: Independent traction research from the University of Virginia found FieldTurf's heavyweight infill system delivers a release traction value of 1.86 — virtually mirroring Kentucky bluegrass.
  • Proven Player Safety: AOSSM-awarded research concluded that FieldTurf's heavyweight systems deliver the lowest injury incidence rate.
  • Quality Manufacturing: High-durability fibers and system design deliver industry-leading fiber tear resistance, split resistance, and wear test score results.
  • Industry-Leading Warranty: Backed by action, not just words — the longest third-party insured warranty in the industry.

This summer's projects reflect relationships built over decades. At the University of Michigan's Big House, Oregon State's Reser Stadium, and Northwestern University, the latest projects marked more than 20 years of partnership with each program. For others, like Colorado State University, it highlighted a renewed partnership with FieldTurf.

John Weber, Director of Athletics, Colorado State University:

“The whole FieldTurf team has been tremendous partners to work with. It is great to have them back involved with Colorado State, after they previously handled the turf at Hughes Stadium. FieldTurf's durability technology and emphasis on safety were important to us as we explored our options, given the many internal and external partners who use Canvas Stadium, the practice field, and the Indoor Practice Facility. “Their partnership with multiple NFL franchises speaks for their reputation as a company and for their product. We are excited for this turf to serve a variety of athletic programs, university programs, and high school and youth programs throughout the Fort Collins and Northern Colorado community.”
