BROOKLYN CYCLONES INSTALL FIELDTURF DOUBLEPLAY TURF AT MCU PARK

The Cyclones will now benefit from a surface that was designed to provide elite levels of performance specifically for baseball.

“Installing our DoublePlay turf system for the Brooklyn Cyclones and the Mets’ organization is certainly a proud moment for us,” said FieldTurf President Eric Daliere. “MCU Park’s new turf was designed to provide long-lasting exceptional baseball-specific performance.”

The move to FieldTurf makes MCU Park the only professional baseball field in New York to play games on a baseball-specific artificial turf system. The facility now aims to host other sporting and non-sporting events in addition to high school and college baseball games. Also important is the fact that FieldTurf is designed to withstand severe weather.

FieldTurf is changing the way the baseball community perceives artificial turf – with its specialized turf systems driving surface innovation throughout every level of baseball. The surfaces are safe and offer consistent playability. Teams playing on FieldTurf are vocal about the benefits of the surface, helping them consistently gauge ball bounce, pace, and speed.

The Cyclones join an impressive list of baseball teams that play and/or practice on FieldTurf DoublePlay systems such as the University of Texas, Oregon State University, Rutgers University, University of Illinois, Kent State University, University of Louisville and the University of Oregon, to name a few.

The Cyclones’ first game on the new FieldTurf DoublePlay turf system is on June 18th when they play host to the Staten Island Yankees.
