America’s Most Intricate End Zone Design

Welcome to California’s Helix High School, which features a record setting end zone.

A standard logo or end zone is produced on average in 40-60 hours; the unique design at Helix High School totaled over 180 hours! There is no doubt that these are the first plaid end zones of its kind in the history of football.

The recently completed FieldTurf field showcases an intricate end zone design composed of 5 different colors and stunning on field emblem logos. Helix’s end zones and field logos were custom-built at FieldTurf’s manufacturing plant in Calhoun, GA. The design was composed of over 55 cut files, nearly double the standard amount, which took approximately 45 minutes each. See how a logo is made Here.

“We have never seen anything so complex – It’s truly one of a kind” said Kevin Williams, FieldTurf’s graphics department supervisor.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled with our field; It’s a work of art” said Damon Chase, Athletic Director at Helix High School. “Not only is the field stunning but it performs and feels like nothing else. It’s a truly unique surface all around.”

Helix High School opted for the FieldTurf Revolution system, regarded as the premier synthetic turf system with unparalleled player safety and performance standards. Revolution is currently the trusted surface of the New England Patriots, the Seattle Seahawks, Ohio State University, the University of Notre Dame and over 700 esteemed NCAA and elite high school facilities.

The Highlanders will have a truly unique field for years to come.
