Tulsa Hurricanes Choose ‘FieldTurf Revolution Coolplay’ for Skelly Field at H.A. Champion Stadium

(TULSA, OK) – FieldTurf has been chosen by the University of Tulsa football program as the new surface for Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium. The innovative FieldTurf Revolution CoolPlay turf system will be installed to provide an elite-level artificial turf surface and to reduce surface temperature.

“When we set out to study different turf options, it quickly became evident that FieldTurf provided our football program with the highest quality surface and ultimately the best investment for the University,” said University of Tulsa Associate Vice-President Terry Hossack. “We have had FieldTurf on campus for many years and when we heard of this latest technology, we had to have it. The CoolPlay system was really interesting for us because we take our Student Athletes’ welfare very seriously and this was an effective way to combat some of the effects of the Oklahoma heat. FieldTurf found a way to turn a high performance artificial turf system into one that also reduces surface temperature”.

FieldTurf’s exclusive cork top dressing allows the CoolPlay system to deliver the same behavior and overall stability as FieldTurf’s elite system fields found in the world’s most famous stadiums. CoolPlay was designed to reduce the heat without any reduction in field performance.
