The Montreal Impact Inaugurates New FieldTurf Training Field Next to Stade Saputo

MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact inaugurated its new synthetic field on Tuesday, located at the heart of Olympic Park. Sitting right next to the main entrance of the stadium, the field will be available for use by the club, most notably by the Academy and its soccer schools, but also by the community.

Designed by Quebec business FieldTurf, the field is the first of its kind in Quebec to use the Revolution technology, which uses a more durable fibre. The field has also been given a FIFA 2 Star designation.

"We are proud to offer the local community a good quality field, all the while having it available for use of all the club's teams, from the Espoirs in our sport-etudes program all the way to the pros in MLS," said Impact president Joey Saputo. "This new field is another step in the progression of our club and our sport."

“We could not be happier to provide a high quality surface for the Montreal Impact”, said FieldTurf President Eric Dalière. “With our roots in Montreal it is an honor for us to have the Impact training on our product. The Revolution system will provide an elite-level surface for many years to come.”

The expansion project at Stade Saputo included the construction of a field to respond to the needs of quality infrastructures for the youth of Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.

A deal has also been signed with the UQAM Citadins, who will use the field for their soccer home matches.

The surface measures 68 metres by 110 metres.
